IndiGo Becomes the First Indian Airline to Fly Direct to Cambodia

India’s leading low-cost carrier, IndiGo, has announced a new direct route connecting Kolkata (India) with Siem Reap (Cambodia) — making it the first Indian airline to operate flights between the two countries.

The new service is set to begin on November 13, 2025, marking an important step in strengthening tourism and economic ties between India and Cambodia.

Flight Schedule and Details

The Kolkata–Siem Reap route will operate three times a week — on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays — using the Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Flight schedule:

• Kolkata → Siem Reap: Flight 6E 1655 departs at 01:50 AM.

• Siem Reap → Kolkata: Flight 6E 1656 departs at 07:20 AM and arrives at 08:55 AM.

This connection offers travelers an easier and more affordable way to explore Cambodia’s famous Angkor Wat, one of the most visited UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Southeast Asia.

Strengthening Tourism and Trade

According to IndiGo, the new route aligns with the rising travel demand between India and Cambodia, supported by simplified visa procedures and growing trade relations.

The airline emphasized that Kolkata serves as a strategic hub in its international network, and Siem Reap will become IndiGo’s 7th international destination from the city.

This move is also expected to promote religious tourism, as Cambodia attracts many Indian visitors interested in exploring its deep cultural and historical connections to Hinduism and Buddhism.
